Hello all. I borrowed a lens from my neighbour this week, the standard kit lens that comes with Nikons: 18-55mm. It is a lens that I used for a few years when I first started out with DSLRs, back when I didn’t know anything about lenses at all. Now I know so much more and it’s kind of a burden in a way because I want to own so many, but they are so expensive!! *sigh*. And saving up for just ONE lens is difficult, especially if you aren’t able to try them out first. Anyways, back to the 18-55mm. In my bedroom I have about twenty black and white of my favourite portraits hung up. One day I was looking at them and I asked myself which were my favourites. I realized that a lot of my favourites were taken with the 18-55mm lens, probably the cheapest lens you can buy. And it made me want that lens again, especially because it has such a wide range, and has a pretty wide angle, which none of my current lenses offer. So playing around with that over the last few days has been a lot of fun. I’d like to compare it with the 24-70mm lens, which I have had my eye on for quite some time now… I’m thinking of renting it from an online rental business, something I haven’t done before, but I think it’s important to see what it’s like before I invest $1500 or so!
Enough rambling, here’s some photos!
Waiting for Daddy to come home…
I did a photo shoot on Saturday of these lovely people(click on picture to see more):
For fun, here is the image SOOC (straight out of camera). I am MUCH happier with the edited version! Thank goodness for Lightroom.
Out for a walk Sunday morning:
Nuni took this one… Shasta was extra cuddly that morning and I loved every second!
