11/365 and 12/365

Well hello!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We spent most of it in the car, it seemed, as we needed to drive 4.5 hours to get passport photos taken!  We arrived, did a bit of shopping and socializing with friends, slept, shopped a bit more, ate yummy food(and drank… I had two chai lattes in one day), and headed 4.5 hours back!  It is one thing to do that trip on your own but with an active little boy, it can be sheer torture at times.  Fortunately for us our friend Alejandra joined us for the trip so she was a great help providing some entertainment in the back for this little monster:

Our friend Alejandra rode with us to and from Whitehorse. She did an amazing job entertaining Shasta in the back :)

Checkin' out the big rigs :) As soon as he saw these he headed straight for them.

The weather was horrible for taking pictures, but good for driving, so I can’t complain too much.  We saw three moose, one of which I took a picture of but it’s nothing special – from then on I had my zoom lens ready but only got to really use it on the way back when we saw these caribou crossing right in front of the “Caribou Crossing” sign:

I wasn’t super impressed with any of the landscape through the cracked windshield shots, but I had to pick something for the day, so here’s the best one:
