Andréa has been a friend of mine since October 2008. We have kept in touch over the years and even had a little adventure once in New York City. I had the pleasure of spending some time with her recently and was so happy she agreed to be part of this project.

What do you believe is the most important thing in life?
I don’t mean a man-woman relationship. Or not only. I mean all kinds and variations of them. Relationships is what keeps us motivated. Or not. And that’s a recent discovery. I always figured if someone, someday would ask me “what’s the most important thing in life?” I would say “love, of course”, and I don’t mean it isn’t, but at some point you realize most of your character is defined by who you’re with and by the range of connections you have. And sometimes it’s not about love. It’s a deception by someone that you might not even love. It’s a smile of someone that you don’t even know. Those are the kinds of things that are going to define you at the end of the day. Who’s with and who’s not with you even when you’re wrong. That person: the one that carries compassion in his eyes, that’s the one who’s gonna make you get up from your failure. “Relationships are the most heavy weight in our backpacks”, I recently heard that in a movie, and that is the truth: Relationships are the most part of our lives. We spend our mental and physical time on relationships: at work, at home, in the streets. It’s not an option. Either you like it or not. It’s up to you to take all the good things, the things you admire, the things you dislike when it comes to arguing, mix it up, and balance. It’s up to you to make the best of it. You can either change the world through your relationships or you can just sit at home contemplating ‘what could have been’.
Just for fun, here are a few more photos from our “session:”
